Introduction to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is an online form that has replaced the paper-based TM6 arrival card. It provides convenience for all foreigners entering Thailand by air, land, or sea. The TDAC is used to submit entry information and health declaration details before arriving in the country, as authorized by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.

This video is from the official Thai government website (tdac.immigration.go.th). The subtitles, translations and dubbing were added by us to help travelers. We are not affiliated with the Thai government.

Who Must Submit a TDAC

All foreigners entering Thailand are required to submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before their arrival, with the following exceptions:

  • Foreigners transiting or transferring in Thailand without going through immigration control
  • Foreigners entering Thailand using a Border Pass

When to Submit Your TDAC

Foreigners should submit their arrival card information within 3 days before arriving in Thailand, including the date of arrival. This allows sufficient time for processing and verification of the information provided.

How Does the TDAC System Work?

The TDAC system streamlines the entry process by digitizing the information collection that was previously done using paper forms. To submit the Digital Arrival Card, foreigners can access the Immigration Bureau website at http://tdac.immigration.go.th. The system offers two submission options:

  • Individual submission - For solo travelers
  • Group submission - For families or groups traveling together

Submitted information can be updated anytime before travel, giving travelers flexibility to make changes as needed.

TDAC Application Process

The application process for the TDAC is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly. Here are the basic steps to follow:

Benefits of the TDAC System

The TDAC system offers several advantages over the traditional paper-based TM6 form:

  • Faster immigration processing upon arrival
  • Reduced paperwork and administrative burden
  • Ability to update information before travel
  • Enhanced data accuracy and security
  • Improved tracking capabilities for public health purposes
  • More sustainable and environmentally friendly approach
  • Integration with other systems for a smoother travel experience

TDAC Limitations and Restrictions

While the TDAC system offers many benefits, there are some limitations to be aware of:

  • Once submitted, certain key information cannot be updated, including:
    • Full Name (as it appears in passport)
    • Passport Number
    • Nationality/Citizenship
    • Date of Birth
  • All information must be entered in English only

  • The system may experience high traffic during peak travel seasons.

Health Declaration Requirements

As part of the TDAC, travelers must complete a health declaration that includes: This includes Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate for travelers from affected countries.

  • List of countries visited within two weeks before arrival
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate status (if required)
  • Declaration of any symptoms experienced in the past two weeks, including:
    • Diarrhea
    • Vomiting
    • Abdominal pain
    • Fever
    • Rash
    • Headache
    • Sore throat
    • Jaundice
    • Cough or shortness of breath
    • Enlarged lymph glands or tender lumps
    • Other (with specification)

Important: If you declare any symptoms, you may be required to proceed to the Department of Disease Control counter before entering the immigration checkpoint.

Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirements

The Ministry of Public Health has issued regulations that applicants who have travelled from or through countries declared as Yellow Fever Infected Areas must provide an International Health Certificate proving they have received a Yellow Fever vaccination.

The International Health Certificate must be submitted together with the visa application form. The traveller will also have to present the certificate to the Immigration Officer upon arrival at the port of entry in Thailand.

Nationals of the countries listed below who have not travelled from/through those countries do not require this certificate. However, they should possess concrete evidence showing that their domicile is not in an infected area to prevent unnecessary inconvenience.

In the case of being a US NAVY member who entered the country on a warship, do I need to fill it out?
0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 15th, 2025 12:09 PM
TDAC is a requirement for all foreigners entering Thailand, but if you are traveling by warship, it may be considered a special case. It is recommended to contact the commanding officer or relevant officials, as travel on behalf of the military may be exempt or have different procedures.

What if I did not complete a digital arrival card prior to entering?
0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 14th, 2025 7:20 PM
It is only an issue if you did not complete a TDAC and entered Thailand after May 1st.

Otherwise, it's completely fine not to have a TDAC if you entered before May 1st, as it did not exist at that time.

A foreign YouTuber commented that the names of sub-districts or districts appearing in the options use spellings that do not match those on Google Maps or actual usage, but follow the logic of the creators, such as VADHANA = WATTANA (V=วฟ). I recommend checking and comparing with the reality that people use so that foreigners can find the terms more quickly.

The TDAC portal for agents correctly supports the spelling of the district VADHANA as an alternative spelling for WATTANA.

However, many people choose to print their own TDAC.

In the case of extending a tourist visa for those who arrived before May, how can I stay for another 30 days?
0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 13th, 2025 2:31 PM
TDAC has nothing to do with extending your stay. If you enter before May 1, you do not need TDAC at this time. TDAC is required for entry into Thailand for non-Thai nationals only.

One can stay 60 days without a visa in Thailand, with the option to apply for a visa exemption of 30 days at an immigration office. Must one fill in the return flight date on the TDAC? Now there is also the question of whether they are returning from 60 to 30 days, making it difficult to book for 90 days to go to Thailand in October.
0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 13th, 2025 2:29 PM
For the TDAC, you can choose a return flight 90 days before arrival if you are entering with a 60-day visa exemption and plan to apply for a 30-day extension of your stay.

Although my country of residence is Thailand, the customs officer at Don Mueang Airport insists that I should enter Japan as my country of residence because I am Japanese. The staff at the input booth also said that this is incorrect. I believe that the correct procedures are not well established, so I hope for improvements.
0

What type of visa did you enter Thailand with?

If it is a short-term visa, the officer's response is likely correct.

Many people choose Thailand as their country of residence when applying for a TDAC and enter Thailand.

0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 12th, 2025 12:29 AM
For the TDAC it's not required at the moment to update anything after your arrival date.

Only your current plans on the day of your arrival need to be on the TDAC.

If I use the border pass but have already filled out the TDAC form. I am only going for one day, how do I cancel it?
0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 11th, 2025 5:41 PM
Although you only enter for a day, or even just for an hour and then leave, you still need the TDAC. Everyone entering Thailand through the border must fill out the TDAC, regardless of how long they stay.

The TDAC also does not need to be canceled. When you do not use it, it will expire on its own.

0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 11th, 2025 3:44 PM
At the moment they do not ask for the TDAC when leaving Thailand, but it is starting to be required for some types of visa submissions from within Thailand.

For example, the LTR visa is requiring the TDAC if you arrived after May 1st.
0
AnonymousAnonymousMay 11th, 2025 3:46 PM
The TDAC is only required for entry at the moment, but this may change in the future.

It appears the BOI is already requiring the TDAC for applicants applying within Thailand for the LTR if they arrived after May 1st.

For our TDAC form, you can submit up to 100 applications in one application. Just click 'add application' on the 2nd page, and it will allow you to pre-fill the travel information from the current traveler.

If we are flying with a layover, May 25 Moscow - China, May 26 China - Thailand. Should we write China - Bangkok as the country of departure and flight number?

For TDAC, we specify the flight from China to Bangkok — we set the country of departure as China, and the flight number for this segment.

It won’t let me input accommodation details. The accommodation section won’t open.

On the official TDAC form, if you set the departure date the same as the arrival day, it will NOT let you fill out accommodation.

What should I fill out for the arrival visa?

VOA stands for Visa on Arrival. If you're from a country eligible for a 60-day visa exemption, select 'Visa Exempt' instead.

If a foreigner has filled out a TDAC and has successfully entered Thailand but wants to postpone their return date after the notified date by 1 day, they are unsure what to do.

If you have submitted a TDAC and have entered the country, no further changes are necessary, even if your plans change after arriving in Thailand.

Which country should I indicate on a flight departing from Paris with a stopover in UAE Abu Dhabi

For the TDAC, you choose the last step of the journey, so it will be the flight number of the flight to the United Arab Emirates.
